Pensamiento Fue el principal representante de la escuela filosófica de Alejandría. Recibió influencias de los estoicos y del platonismo, y concibió a Dios como el Ser en sí, aunque también como un ser puro, autosuficiente, simple, identificable con el Bien o la Idea de las Ideas (Platón): el hombre sólo puede acceder a él por el éxtasis o la intuición.
